23.02.10

400 additional flights on Wednesday – Normal flight operations to resume on Friday at the latest – Rebooking possible free of charge

Lufthansa is continuously updating the special flight schedule that is currently in operation due to industrial action and increasing the number of flights operated. Services on European and intercontinental routes will be added to the schedule today. Flights from Frankfurt to Singapore and Sao Paulo and to a number of other destinations have already been resumed. Today, Lufthansa also operated services on key domestic routes such as Frankfurt-Berlin and Munich-Hamburg.

Further additions to the special flight schedule are planned for Wednesday 24 February. About 1,400 flights will be operated tomorrow rather than the 1,000 flights originally published. The regular timetable offers some 1,800 daily flights. The special flight schedule and details about additional services that will be operated today and tomorrow are now available on our website at www.lufthansa.com. Information about additional services scheduled for Thursday, 25 February can be accessed from this evening on the airline’s home page. Lufthansa expects normal flight operations to resume by Friday at the latest.

Passengers whose flights were cancelled during the period 22to 25 February 2010 and who have already rebooked on alternative flights can either retain their new booking or, if preferred, can rebook on one of the reinstated Lufthansa flights. No charge will be made for this service. The free hotline set up by Lufthansa is still available at: 0 800 8 50 60 70 an.
